Beautiful building with lovely old architecture and woodwork. Perfect for use as a venue with stage, etc. BUT not as great as a lecture hall! There is nothing that resembles a desk or tray, so you have to put your notebook or laptop in your lap, and the seats are very uncomfortable. I'm in my late 30s, and I find this to be an impossibly back-breaking learning environment.

As both a graduate and a student, Convocation Hall holds a special place in my heart as a remarkable venue on campus. This stunning hall offers a grand setting for ceremonies and lectures alike, leaving a lasting impression on anyone who enters. One of the remarkable features of Convocation Hall is the abundance of seating available. The hall is spacious and can comfortably accommodate a large number of attendees. Whether it's a convocation ceremony or a captivating lecture, there is ample seating for everyone to find a spot and settle in. For the best view of ceremonies or lectures, I highly recommend sitting on the ground level. From there, you can fully immerse yourself in the experience, with a clear and unobstructed view of the stage. The atmosphere is intimate and engaging, allowing you to feel connected to the proceedings. While the highest level of the hall can be an exciting place to sit, offering a unique vantage point, it's worth noting that the views can be compromised due to the distance from the stage. If the visual aspect is crucial, it's best to opt for a seat closer to the action. The architecture of Convocation Hall is truly captivating. The intricate details, soaring ceilings, and elegant design elements create a sense of grandeur and awe. The hall exudes a sense of history and importance, elevating the significance of any event held within its walls. Moreover, the presence of a large organ adds to the ambiance, making it even more memorable. It's important to note that while Convocation Hall is beautiful, it can get quite warm, especially during a full house. Though air conditioning is in place, it's advisable to dress appropriately for the occasion, considering the potential temperature variations. In addition to its architectural splendor, Convocation Hall maintains a high standard of cleanliness. The washrooms are well-maintained, reflecting the care and attention given to the overall upkeep of the venue. I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to visit Convocation Hall, even if not for an official ceremony or lecture. Its beauty and historical significance make it a must-see location on campus. Whether you are a graduate, student, or simply an admirer of remarkable architecture, Convocation Hall offers a unique experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Phenomenonal experience! Enjoy some snippets from my graduation folks! But I sure wish they had a stronger AC or a more direct way to cool students because in the summer, with a suit and regalia on it was a struggle... Aside from that, it is a great place and forever in my memory!!

pretty nice for convocation, terrible as a lecture hall. had the most uncomfy seats, it was always hot, and no outlets for students. but 10/10 would graduate here again👌 …

Just such a special building. There’s so much history associated with this place. Think of all the memories made here, the first lectures students have attended, the thousands of convocation ceremonies and all the lives and careers launched starting from this hall. It’s too bad that the beautiful glass ceiling was damaged some years ago. Hopefully we will see a more colorful replacement soon enough!

I've had the opportunity to attend a course at Convocation Hall at the University of Toronto, and I must say that my overall experience was quite positive. The only minor drawback I encountered was that the sound quality in the back seats wasn't always crystal clear. If you're looking for the best auditory experience, it's a good idea to arrive early and grab a seat closer to the front.

Beautiful, royal-esque location for graduation! Seating is limited so go early, but enjoy the domed rotunda and absorb the history while you’re there.
